About

Art You OK™ is a project bridging the connection between art and mental well-being.

The first Art You OK™ project was established in 2023. Its strong focus is on shared experiences. It brings together local artists, art therapists, and community members through exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative installations. The goal is to foster open conversations about mental health, break down stigma, and create accessible avenues for people to explore their emotions and connect.

The 2025 Art You OK™ project is sponsored by the City of Melbourne Annual Art Grant. The project's focus is to collaborate with a public hospital and work with patients to support their emotional and spiritual well-being. Over 20 weeks, Xiang will engage with patients using art-making and storytelling to honour their unique journeys and strengths. The completion of this effort will be a public exhibition at the hospital, along with digital content and social media storytelling to amplify its impact.

ART YOU OK™ 2023

Art You Ok™ 2023 launched with Wyndham City Council's support to explore the connection between art and mental health. Led by local artist and therapist Xiang, the project engaged the community through exhibitions and workshops, fostering dialogue, reducing stigma, and using creativity as a tool for emotional well-being and connection.

The theme of Art You OK™ 2023 was art for the well-being of artists and art therapists. Eighteen artists and art therapists participated in the exhibition in the Annex pop-up art gallery in Wyndham.
